Indexação morfos semântica de imagens no contexto da saúde visando a qualidade na recuperação de informações

No campo da saúde, os dispositivos de captura de imagens estão cada vez mais especializados e, atualmente, pode-se registrar imagens nunca imagináveis, como aquelas internas ao corpo humano, as imagens em movimento concernentes às doenças, aos órgãos internos, ou à maneira de dormir. O acesso a essas imagens, no entanto, nem sempre é possibilitado, não apenas por motivos éticos, porém pela falta ou deficiência no tratamento informacional destas fontes. Apresentam-se algumas reflexões sobre os modelos de tratamento e organização de imagens e sua aplicabilidade ao campo da saúde, mostrando alguns sistemas de tratamento e recuperação de imagens, tais como Picture Archiving and Communication Systems, Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine, Radiology Information System, Hospital Information System, Medical Imaging Informatics Infrastruture, Sistema para Recuperação de Imagens por Conteúdo e Sistema de Recuperação de Imagens Similares desenvolvidos no Brasil. Finalmente, o modelo teórico do Sistema de Indexação e Recuperação Morfossemântica de Informações Imagéticas.

The image capture devices started specializing in all of the fields of knowledge and, now, in the health field, one can record images that were never imaginable. The moving images related to diseases, to our internal organs, to the way we sleep, or to how one reacts to a stimulus: nothing seems to escape the world of images. However, the access to those images is not always made possible, not only for ethical reasons but also because of the lack or deficiency in the information treatment of those sources of information. Here, we present some reflections on the models of treatment and organization of images and their applicability to the health field, showing some systems of treatment and retrieval of images, such as: Picture Archiving and Communication Systems, Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine, Radiology Information System, Hospital Information System, Medical Imaging Informatics Infrastruture, and also the Retrieval Imaging Content System, and the Similar Images Retrieval System developed in Brasil. At last, it presents the theoretical model of the System for Morphosemantic Indexing and Retrieval of Image Information.
